SSC JHT 2017- Junior Hindi Translator exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Committee for the recruitment of Junior Hindi Translator in Subordinate Offices. SSC JHT 2017 Eligibility Criteria

  • In order to apply for this exam your age should not exceed 30 years as on the prescribed date.
  • Candidates should have completed their Master’s education with Hindi/English along with Bachelor’s degree with English/Hindi as an elective or compulsory subject.
  • Aspirants having Bachelor’s degree with English/Hindi as main subject are also permitted to apply.
  • If you have completed B.A (Hons) in Hindi/English with English/Hindi as subsidiary/(Modern Indian Language MIL) subject then you are eligible to apply.

How to Apply for SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2017?

Application form of candidates will be accepted in offline mode only. After filling up the application candidates will be required to remit the fee of Rs. 100/- through “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)”only. Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)” can be obtained from all Departmental Post Offices of India. If you are a woman applicant or belong to SC/ST/PH/Ex-Servicemen category then you don’t need to pay any amount of fee. Application form duly filled in all its aspects should be sent to the Regional / Sub-Regional Offices of the Commission of the particular region where applicants are residing.

Exam Pattern

  • There will be a written test and Personality Test/Interview.
  • The written test will include two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper II.
  • Written test will be of 400 marks combining both the papers whereas Personality Test/Interview will be of 100 marks.
  • Paper I will be an objective type exam whereas; Paper II will be a conventional type test.
  • 25 marks gets deducted for every wrong attempt.
  • All questions of Paper I will be objective type only.

Paper I (Objective Type)

  • Subjects Involved- General Hindi (100 marks) and General English (100 marks)
  • Total Marks- 200 Marks
  • Exam Duration- 2 Hours

Paper II (Conventional Type)

  • Subject involved- Translation & Essay
  • Total Marks- 200 Marks
  • Exam Duration- 2 Hours

SSC JHT 2017 Admit Card

The Staff Selection Commission will send admit card to candidates at their mentioned postal address. You can’t obtain your admit card via any another way. Please do not forget to mention the preference of exam centres during application procedure.


Merit list of qualified candidates along with score obtained by all candidates appeared in the exam will be available at official website of the respective authority. You can expect your result after two or three months from completion of the exam. Candidates who are qualified in Paper I will be only allowed to appear for Paper II.

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates would depend upon following two factors:

  • Written Test (Paper –I & Paper – II)- 400 Marks
  • Personality Test/Interview- 100 Marks
