KLEE 2017

Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala conducts KLEE 2017 to offer admission to aspirants in law programmes offered in colleges in the state.

 

Kerala Law Entrance Exam (KLEE) is a state-level entrance exam on the basis of which CEE offers admission to shortlisted candidates in law courses such as LLB 3 years, LLB 5 years and LLM in Government Law Colleges and Private Self-Financing Colleges in Kerala.

 

Exam dates for KLEE 2017 have not been declared yet. Last year, CEE conducted KLEE LLB (5 year) course admissions on August 21, 2016.

 

KLEE exam is usually conducted in test centres spread across Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode.

Eligibility

As per the eligibility criteria for KLEE only those aspirants can apply for LLB 3 years, LLB 5 years and LLM course admissions who are Indian citizens.

 

KLEE 2017 Eligibility Criteria for LLB 3 Year Course Admission

 

Apart from being an Indian citizen, other eligibility criteria that aspirants need to fulfill in order to secure admission in three year LLB course offered in Government and other affiliated colleges in the state of Kerala are as mentioned below:

 

Educational Qualifications

 

Candidates meet the eligibility criteria for KLEE 2017 to secure admission in LLB 3 year pogramme if they have:

 

  • Graduated from any stream/faculty provided they pursued this course from any University in Kerala or even from any other University which is recognised by any University in Kerala as equivalent thereto.
  • Cleared their Bachelor’s Degree exam with atleast 45% aggregate marks if they belong to the General category. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category are eligible for admission if they have secured 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

 

Note: Aspirants who have given or are yet to appear for the qualifying exam (that is, regular examination of academic year 2017-18) also meet KLEE 2017 eligibility criteria. However, such aspirants are offered admission on provisional basis. Their admission will only be confirmed if they submit their “Degree Certificate as well as mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of admission”, informs the official website.

 

Age Limit: There is no age limit for aspirants to apply for LLB 3 year programme on the basis of their performance in KLEE exam.

 

Qualifying Standards in KLEE

 

The official website of CEE, Kerala informs: “To qualify in the examination, a General/SEBC applicant should secure a minimum of 10% marks in the Entrance Examination whereas a candidate belonging to SC/ST category should get a minimum of 5% marks”.

 

KLEE 2017 Eligibility Criteria for LLB 5 Year Course Admission

 

The eligibility criteria for LLB 5 year programme offered at Kerala Government Colleges as well as Private Self-Financing Law Colleges is as mentioned below:

 

Educational Qualifications

 

The academic qualification that aspirants need to fulfill in order to meet KLEE 2017 eligibility criteria is as follows:

 

  • Cleared Kerala Higher Secondary Examination or any other exam recognised to be equivalent by Universities in Kerala

Or

  • Cleared 10+2 course as recognised by the Educational Authority of Central or State Government

Or

  • Possess academic qualifications that are considered to be equivalent to 10+2 level course by Bar Council of India, wherein, aspirants have secured atleast 45% aggregate marks. Aspirants who fall under the SC/ST category and are seeking admission in LLB 5 year programme should have passed the qualifying examination with atleast 40% aggregate marks.

 

Note: Candidates who are appearing or have appeared for their qualifying examination in 2017 are also eligible to apply for KLEE. However, admission of such candidates will be confirmed only if they submit their pass certificate as well as mark list of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

 

Age Limit: Candidates are eligible for admission if they are atleast 17 years of age as on December 31, 2017.There is no upper age limit criteria that aspirants need to fulfill in order to secure admission in integrated five year LLB course in Kerala.

 

Qualifying Standards in KLEE

 

To secure admission in LLB 5 year course on the basis of KLEE, candidates need to fulfill the below mentioned admission criteria as well:

 

  • General Category/SEBC students should have secured atleast 10% out of the total 600 marks in KLEE entrance examination.
  • SC/ST Category should secure atleast 5% out of the total 600 marks in KLEE entrance exam.

 

KLEE 2017 Eligibility Criteria for LLM Course Admission

 

In order to meet KLEE 2017 eligibility criteria for LLM course admissions, aspirants should be Indian citizens of Kerala origin.

 

Educational Qualifications

 

Aspirants fulfill eligibility criteria of KLEE exam if they have cleared their LLB exam (5 year/3 year course) with atleast 50% aggregate marks from any University in Kerala or from any other University that is recognised to be equivalent by Universities in Kerala.

 

Note: The official website informs: “Candidates appearing/appeared for the regular Final year LLB examination can also apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the Provisional / Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of Admission”.

 

Age Limit: Aspirants do not need to fulfill any upper age limit to apply for KLEE exam.

Process

Step 1: Fill KLEE 2017 Application Form

 

Candidates can only apply online for KLEE exam in order to secure admission in LLB 3 year, LLB 4 year and LLM programmes on offer by Kerala Universities and Self-Financing Law Colleges.

 

KLEE application form can be filled on the official website of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala.

 

While filling KLEE 2017 application form for LLB 3 year and LLB 5 year programme the official website informs that each “candidate has to upload his/her recent passport size colour photograph with light background in jpg format, with size between 15 kb and 30kb and dimensions 150 (width) x 200 (height) in pixels”.

Step 2: Download KLEE Admit Card

 

Candidates can download their KLEE 2017 admit card from the official website of CEE, Kerala. Any candidate who is not carrying his/her KLEE admit card to the test centre will not be allowed to take the law entrance exam.

 

Step 3: Appear for KLEE Exam

 

The KLEE entrance exam for LLB 3 year as well as LLB 5 year course admissions will comprise of 200 multiple choice questions which aspirants need to attempt in 3 hours duration.

 

KLEE entrance test for LLM course admissions consists of two papers which aspirants need to attempt in 90 minutes duration each. The questions asked are objective type in nature and each paper is expected to have 100 questions which candidates need to attempt in one and a half hour duration.

 

Step 4: Check KLEE 2017 Result

 

The result for LLB 3 year, LLB 5 year and LLM course admission is released on the official website of CEE, Kerala.

 

A merit list with names, roll number and score of shortlisted candidates is released for admission in law programmes offered in Universities of Kerala and other Self-Financing Law Colleges.

 

Step 5: Take Part in Centralised Allotment Process

 

The official website of CEE, Kerala informs: “Allotment will be made by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in accordance with the rank obtained by the candidates in the Entrance Examination and the order of preference of institutions (options) registered by the candidates during online Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). The details of CAP will be notified on the website and in leading newspapers. Individual intimation in this regard will not be sent to candidates”.

KLEE exam pattern is such that for LLB 3 year, LLB 5 year as well as LLM course admissions, candidates need to attempt objective type questions in a stipulated time duration.

 

KLEE Exam Pattern for LLB 3 year course is such that candidates need to attempt 200 multiple choice objective type questions in 3 hours duration.

KLEE Exam Pattern for LLM course is such that candidates need to attempt two papers comprising of 100 marks each. Each of these entrance exam papers need to be completed by aspirants in 90 minutes duration each.
